The official name of the country is the Commonwealth of the Bahamas. They are located southeast of the American state of Florida. It is an archipelagic state, namely there are approximately 700 islands, isles, cays, and islets. The total land area of The Bahamas is 13,800 square kilometers, making it a very tiny nation.
