Timor-Leste has several names. It’s also known as East Timor and, more officially, the Democratic Republic of Timor-Leste. The country is an island located in Southeast Asia and Oceania with its size of about 15,007 square kilometres. Once, Timor-Leste was a Portugal colony with the name Portuguese Timor. Therefore, Portuguese is one of two official languages in the country, right behind the Tetum language.
