Introduction

Formerly known as British Honduras, Belize isa very tiny nation bordered by Mexico from the north and Guatemala from the south and west. Due to its small size and very small population, the nation is considered to have the lowest population and population density in Central America. Still, due to its large population growth, Belize is considered to be one of the fastest growing populations in the Western Hemisphere.

In terms of numbers, the GDP (PPP) of Belize is $3.5 billion, which is approximately $9,500 per citizen. Their density is almost 18 people per square kilometer, which is the 169th largest in the world.
