Introduction

The Congo is the abbreviated name for two different nations, but the smaller one that became independent from the French colonial empire is the Republic of the Congo. It is located in the western coast of Central Africa with such neighbours as Gabon, Cameroon, the Central African Republic, and the Angolan exclave of Cabinda. The last neighbor is a considerably larger Democratic Republic of the Congo.

With the total size of 342,000 square kilometers, their density is only 12.8 people per square kilometer. It is all due to the very low population of approximately 5.5 million people, according to the latest data in 2020. As far as their GDP (PPP) is concerned, it is $32.5 billion.
