Introduction

The Democratic Republic of the Congo, or shortly known as DRC, is a nation that was historically known as the Republic of Zaire. It is located in Central Africa and with the land coverage of 2.345 million square kilometers, this is the largest country in the Sub-Saharan region of Africa and the second-largest in the entire African continent.

It is also the 11th largest nation in the world. Its population is estimated to be at around 92 million, which makes them the 15th most populous country in the world. Sadly, their total GDP is incredibly low for such a large country. With only $77.5 billion, their per capita is one of the lowest in the entire world - $843.
