Introduction

The Dominican Republic is the country located on the eastern part of the Hispaniola island. It is located in the Greater Antilles archipelago of the Caribbean. The only border they have is with Haiti, which occupies the smaller part of the Hispaniola island. 

The total land area is 47,670 square kilometers. Interestingly, their population is estimated to be at around 11 million. As a result, the country is pretty densely populated, with 220 citizens per square kilometer. Their total GDP (PPP) is $216 billion, which gives them $20,625 per citizen on average, in accordance with the 2019 data.
