Introduction

Hungary is a country located in Central Europe with the total land coverage of 93,000 square kilometers. It is a relatively small nation in size. However, because of its population, it is considered to be a medium-sized member state in the European Nation. It is worth noting that the official language in the country, Hungarian, is not an Indo-European language as most of the European ones. It is a Uralic language, same as Finnish.

Economy

The GDP of Hungary is $337 billion. As a result, they are 15th in Europe and ahead of Greece but behind Denmark and Portugal. According to the same source that gathered its data in 2019, the GDP per capita is at the level of $34,000. It is fairly below European's average. Noteworthy is the fact that in recent years, the GDP per capita has significantly increased. In the last 3 years, they noticed the increase of 22%. Interestingly, it was 15% on average across the EU.

Population

The population of 9.7 million gives Hungary 12th position in European Union. We should bear in mind that it is a rather densely populated nation with approximately 105 Hungarians per square kilometer.
