Introduction

Formerly known as Nyasaland, Malawi is a landlocked country located in the southeastern region of Africa. Its official name is the Republic of Malawi and is bordered by Zambia, Tanzania, and Mozambique. With the land coverage of 118,484 square kilometers, it is a very small nation. 

Economy in the region is similarly bad to its neighbouring countries. With the total GDP (PPP) at aroind $25 billion, its GDP per capita is only $1,234. It is all due to the considerable number of people living in Malawi (according to the data from 2020, it was more than 19 million citizens).
