Introduction

The Islamic Republic of Mauritania is the former French colony and the nation that has more than 1 million square kilometers of land. It is located in West Africa and is considered to be the 8th largest nation in this continent. The population is fairly limited with the approximate number of 4.4 million as of 2018. 

Because of its large size, Mauritania's density is also very low - only 3.4 people per square kilometer. In terms of economy, there are large natural resources available on the terrain, but at this moment total GDP (PPP) of the nation is very low - at the level of $18.1 billion. It translated into $4,563 on average per citizen in 2018.
