The Islamic Republic of Pakistan is a nation located in South Asia with one of the largest populations in the world and the second-largest group of Muslims. Its land area covers 881,000 square kilometers. As a result, it has a considerable density. Although the capital city is Islamabad, the largest one in the country is Karachi with almost 15 million people living there.

Economy

Being located in South Asia, Pakistani economy is the second largest after India. According to data from 2019, the value of GDP (with PPP included) is at around $1.06 trillion. Because of that, it is almost 9% of South Asia’s GDP.

Although this value seems like a lot, we need to remember about its huge population. As a result, an average Pakistani is much poorer than in other parts of the world. With Purchasing Power Parity taken into account, it is around $4,900.

Population

Being the second largest Muslim population in the world means that the entire population is enormous anyway. In terms of density, it is 56th with the average value of 244 Pakistanis per square kilometer.
