The Republic of Benin is a former French colony. It is a West African country that has borders with such nations as Nigeria, Togo, Burkina Faso, and Niger. Interestingly, most of its population lives near the coast of the Bight of Benin.  In 2019, it had a population of almost 12 million people.  More about Benin Officially known as the State of Israel, the country is located in Western Asia near the southeastern shore of the Mediterranean Sea. The official language of Israel is Hebrew, and the capital as well as the largest city in the nation is Jerusalem.
