The Congo is the abbreviated name for two different nations, but the smaller one that became independent from the French colonial empire is the Republic of the Congo. It is located in the western coast of Central Africa with such neighbours as Gabon, Cameroon, the Central African Republic, and the Angolan exclave of Cabinda. The last neighbor is a considerably larger Democratic Republic of the Congo.

There are three different seas in other directions, such as Adriatic, Ionian, and Tyrrhenian seas. Interestingly, though the city of Rome is most populous in the country, the region of Lombardy with the regional capital city of Milan has the greatest number of population out of all other Italian regions.
