Interestingly, though the city of Rome is most populous in the country, the region of Lombardy with the regional capital city of Milan has the greatest number of population out of all other Italian regions.

Interestingly, this is a transcontinental nation because of the small portion of the country that is located west of the Ural River in Eastern Europe. However, most of the lands are in Central Asia. The territory has approximately 2.7 million square kilometers. In terms of neighbours, they share borders with Russia, China, Kyrgyzstan, Uzbekistan, and Turkmenistan.
