The Republic of Nicaragua is the largest country located in the region of Central America. Still, its total land area of 130,375 square kilometers is only 96th in worldwide rankings. It is bordered by only two other states, namely Costa Rica and Honduras. The capital and largest city in the republic is Managua, which is also the third largest city in the Central America region. More about Nicaragua Officially known as the Portugese Republic, the nation is located on the Iberian Peninsula in soutwestern part of Europe. As a result of its position, it is considered the westernmost sovereign state in Mainland Europe. The only sharing border they have (besides the enormous coastline with the Atlantic Ocean) is with Spain. The capital and largest city in Portugal is Lisbon.
