The official name of North Korea is Democratic People's Republic of Korea. It is a nation located in East Asia that inhabits the northern part of the Korean Peninsula. The country is neighboured by three countries, namely China, Russia, and South Korea. The largest city and at the same time the capital of the nation is Pyongyang. Interestingly, in spite of being very small in both size and population, DPRK is one of the most militarized nations in the world. We should bear in mind that in spite of claims of being a one-party republic, the nation is governed under a totalitarian dictatorship with the head of Kim Jong-un. More about North Korea South Korea is officially recognized as the Republic of Korea (ROK). It is a highly developed country located in East Asia, in the Korean Peninsula. As we can guess, it takes the southern part of the region and shares a border with only one nation, namely North Korea. The capital city of Seoul is the largest city in the country and the fifth-largest metropolitan area in the entire world.
