World map with selected countries highlighted.
The nation of the Philippines is located in the western Pacific Ocean and it is considered an archipelagic country. There are more than 7,600 islands owned by the republic. However, in most cases they are divided into three main geographical divisions, namely Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao. The land coverage of 300,000 square kilometers is relatively low, especially if we take into account its large population. A gigantic number of recognized regional languages (up to 19) makes this place very diverse and, as a result, with two official languages - English and Filippino. More about Philippines The Republic of San Marino is a microstate located in the southern part of Europe. It is completely enclosed by Italy. As a result, it is their only neighbour. Its land coverage is about 61 square kilometers. However, because of the population of 34,000 people, its density is quite large - at the level of 520 people per square kilometer.  More about San Marino
