Officially known as the Portugese Republic, the nation is located on the Iberian Peninsula in soutwestern part of Europe. As a result of its position, it is considered the westernmost sovereign state in Mainland Europe. The only sharing border they have (besides the enormous coastline with the Atlantic Ocean) is with Spain. The capital and largest city in Portugal is Lisbon. It is important to notice that it is one of the oldest nations in Europe.

However, they also share borders with The Gambia, which is so small Senegal nearly surrounds them. The capital and the most important city in Senegal is Dakar. Noteworthy is the fact that the official language is French - the remnants of French colonizations.
