Introduction

The Republic of Equatorial Guinea is the nation situated in the central region of Africa - on its west coast to be exact. It was formerly a Spanish colony, but after the independence, their name came from the location - near the Equator and the Gulf of Guinea.

The total size of 28,050 square kilometers is a very small one for such a nation. However, because of a small population at the level of 1.45 million, it is definitely not as densely populated as some other countries. What is more, the republic's GDP is quite astonishing when compared to other African nations. Though its total GDP (PPP) is average (only $29 billion), it gives them the GDP per capita at the level of $21,400).
