The Republic of Benin is a former French colony. It is a West African country that has borders with such nations as Nigeria, Togo, Burkina Faso, and Niger. Interestingly, most of its population lives near the coast of the Bight of Benin.  In 2019, it had a population of almost 12 million people.  More about Benin Suriname, or Surinam, is a country located in South America. The official name is the Republic of Suriname. There are three neighboring countries which are French Guiana, Guyana and Brazil. To the north it is bordered by the Atlantic Ocean.
